The State Water Resources Control Board (State Water Board), along with six partner agencies, will host a California Financing Coordinating Committee (CFCC) Funding Fair in Sacramento on May 28th.

The fair, which will take place in the Coastal Room of the Cal/EPA building, 1001 I Street in Sacramento, will offer public works and local government representatives the opportunity to learn about current available funding for infrastructure projects. These include, but are not limited to, projects involving drinking water, wastewater, solid waste, water quality, water supply, water conservation, energy efficiency, flood management, community facilities, streets and highways, and emergency response vehicles.

The CFCC is made up of seven funding members: The State Water Board, California Department of Public Health, California Department of Water Resources, California Department of Housing and Community Development, U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development, U.S. Department of the Interior Bureau of Reclamation, and California Infrastructure and Economic Development Bank.

CFCC members facilitate and expedite various types of infrastructure projects by helping customers combine the resources of different agencies.  Since 2000, CFCC members have conducted free funding fairs statewide to educate the public about available financial and technical resources.

CFCC Funding Fairs provide one-stop shopping for those looking for infrastructure funding in California.  Each participating agency will provide information on available infrastructure grant, loan, and bond financing programs and options.  Additionally, attendees may speak directly with program staff about specific projects and issues affecting their community.

In addition to the several funding sources offered to improve California’s water quality, the State Water Board’s Division of Financial Assistance will provide information on financial incentives available to assist with water recycling projects to provide drought relief.

The daily schedule for the CFCC Funding Fair is as follows:

  • 8:00 a.m. – 8:30 a.m. (Check-in)
  • 8:30 a.m. – 12:00 p.m. (Agency Presentations)
  • 12:00 p.m. – 3:00 (Project Discussion with Agencies)

The May 28 funding fair will be the first of seven funding fairs to be held throughout the state in 2014. Additionally, the May 28 and October 9, 2014 funding fairs, both in Sacramento, will be webcast.
